About us

The Association of Senior Researchers and Teaching Staff ("Vereinigung der fortgeschrittenen Forschenden und Lehrenden", VFFL) is committed to representing the interests of the body and its members within UZH, as well as vis-à-vis authorities and the public at cantonal, regional, national and international levels. The VFFL promotes exchange of information and shaping of opinion within the body, fosters active participation in the shaping of teaching and research policies and stands up for other issues that may arise in the context of the employment of members of the body at UZH.

As defined in the Universitätsgesetz (PDF, 66 KB), the representative body of Senior Researchers and Teaching Staff (FFL) includes employees with a permanent academic or teaching position at UZH as well as teaching staff employed with a work contract under private law. The almost 5000 members in our body established in 2020 represent an important part of research and teaching at the University of Zurich. We would like to invite you to join the  VFFL. Membership is free of charge. As a member of the association, you will be invited to our annual meetings, receive our newsletters, and be able to vote for the VFFL board and presidium. Of course, you can also participate in the elections of the FFL body representatives without being a member of the VFFL, or stand for election and be elected yourself. We look forward to any form of cooperation.
